“Your hand is all I have to keep me hanging on”

The emotion is real, but the photo below isn’t reality. If it was real, I (Lisa Laylah) would be eye level with my husband (Kevin TacoLover). And the little cream chihuahua (Annabelle) would be loudly playfully barking in the tan chihuahua’s face (Loki).

Image Essentials’ “Love Everlasting” couple poses are the first of three in Kay Weston’s series and available at Designer Showcase for 150L apiece. The poses are modifiable so had I decided to take my real life height into Second Life, I would be eye to eye with Taco.

But, I’m short all real life day long, so I want to be an amazon in SL! Seriously, this set is really sweet. I love all poses, but sometimes I just want sweet, tender couple poses in SL that represent the vulnerability and faith real life relationships often have.

@TacoKevin, I’m sorry I forgot to mention my new shoes. If it helps, they are part of my upcoming birthday plan. @Reader, if you made it this far, thanks for listening.. 😉

“With the blink of an eye, [I] finally see the light…”

The scent of honeysuckles reminds me of home. If you didn’t know, honeysuckles grow as a vine. Or maybe a certain variety does? I don’t have a green thumb. :/ However, I recall them climbing my childhood home.  I’ll be back in Albuquerque in a couple of weeks. I haven’t been home since November 2013, and maybe that isn’t too long for some, but what can I say, I’m a hometown girl and away from my roots as I work in Sin City (aka Las Vegas). Prism Designs‘ Lua in Honeysuckle reminded me of home if only for the color’s name.

It's amazing when you finally see the light

Honestly, I’m flying back home because doctors believe my dad may have Parkinson’s Disease. I just realized this now, but Prism Designs actually has a limited edition dress and half of its proceeds will go towards research for Parkinson’s Disease.  Incidentally, it is not a limited edition version of what I am wearing in the picture. I just forget to copy my SLurls, so I hit up blogs to find them. Subsequently, I found out Prisms Designs supported the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

That’s just so cool. I had to mention.  I also saw the light. I don’t necessarily need a reason to go home. There is no shame in adults missing their moms and dads!

Spring’s just around the corner (at least in my neck of the woods)

It finally rained in Las Vegas, and my boyfriend found out his windshield wipers didn’t work. What a way to find out huh? Daylight savings time is…next week…I think, and I’m ready for it. I know we lose an hour, but we have extra sunlight. I only like the rain in SL, or when I’m tucked away in bed watching a marathon session of Breaking Bad, Weeds, or House of Cards (not much of a marathon for this show).

Incidentally, Prism Design’s Felicity Early Spring Coat in First Flowers screams springtime and soon to come April showers.

Spring Showers

It also comes with the boots, so feel free to splish and splash in any puddle that comes your way. Now stomping in puddles is something I do like because it’s such a rarity for me. Been there done that? Awww…okay. In that case, hope you all are enjoying the weather wherever you may be! 😉

Winter Morning

I’m such a sucker for plaid! Prism Designs’ Yesi in Winter Morning is a lovely soft pink shade. It’s very girly girl if you are so inclined. It also comes with the shoes and the thigh high leg warmers. It’s a mix and mash item because all pieces can be worn separately.

c’est la vie

Finally settled into my new home…and it still doesn’t feel like home. Perhaps it’s the time of year? I guess we all have to grow up someday. I’d visit Las Vegas once in awhile, but to actually live here is surreal. Slot machines everywhere! I’ve had a few friends say to go down to the strip and celebrate Las Vegas style.

c'est la vie

I’m actually looking forward to dressing up in real life, but, in SL, Prism Designs‘ Anastacia dress and matching mesh hat in Black Sequin is the perfect New Year’s Eve party dress. It’s a mesh body and a flexi skirt, so it has plenty of movement.

I added an additional pop of red with Zuri Rayna’s Norena Star earrings and necklace set.

Tis  the season to glam it up right? Happy holidays!

Forgotten thoughts of yesterdays

I haven’t been online much lately. Real life happens, and sometimes it seriously sucks. This post has three points that I wanted to address. One ) I think Prism Design’s latest releases Imani by Journey in Kenya and Blue Wave dress are super cute; 2) I received a note card about the creator of Donna Flora’s cancer; and 3) Never assume you will see someone again.

Prism Design’s Imani comes in other colors and it’s really cute for the season. I would totally wear this in real life, but real life short girls often look much shorter in these types of pants. However, in SL, we can be anything or anyone. The last picture shows Darcy in Blue Wave. The combinations of blues on an abstract print are very pretty, but it comes in other colors if you feel like something different. The silhouette is seriously sexy too.

PrismFarJuly

Okay…my second point…as many of you know, Squinternet Larnia, designer behind Donna Flora is ill, cancer can be devastating, so many people in the SL community are helping raise funds for her upcoming medical bills with the The Love Donna Fundraiser.

PrismCloseJuly

The actual fundraiser will start on July 25 I believe, but until then, you can stop by her store and do a little shopping. I’ve always loved her jewelry because they are bold statement pieces  that add a bit of pop to any outfit.  I’m wearing a former Cinema piece called Folia that you can find at her main store. Actually, Squinternet Larnia’s real life predicament leads me to my third point. Never assume you will see someone again. Hopefully lots of love, prayers, and medical intervention will help Ms. Larnia, but I had my own dose of reality a couple of weeks ago as my family had to bury my super cute and sweet cousin.

PrismBlueWave

His name was Dominic Sandoval and he was my aunt’s baby. He lost his life on June 19 to unknown causes at the tender age of 28. I never thought about going to visit him because I thought he would always be around. With that said, try not to take family or loved ones for granted. It’s hard. Unfortunately, we usually learn when it’s much too late. It broke my heart and even though I know he’s in a better place (I really believe in heaven), but the survivors such as my aunt, uncle, and his brother and my other cousin are caught up in the hellish nightmare of saying goodbye to a son and a brother.

Anyway, sorry I had to let my real life seep into SL, but I’ve been stuck lately, so thanks for listening.

meet me in the Hamptons

Even though Monday is typically the beginning of a work or school week, in Second Life, it can be day to start a vacation! Prism Designs reintroduces one of their most popular outfits “The Hamptons” that is compatible with Lola’s Tango Appliers. There are six summertime prints to choose from. I like an outfit when it has the option to change into beachwear in a flash.

Prism Hamptons Shorts

We just remove the capris or shorts, shorts in my case, and we’re ready to soak up the sun. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

prism in pink

Prism Designs adds color to our Second Life! Their newest mini dress Diane is sweet yet sexy. I’m wearing it in Pink on White, but there are other colors too. You don’t have to pair it with leggings like I did, but I figured since I was jumping around in my picture, I better make sure I keep my dignity 😉

So wear Diane as a top or a mini dress. It also comes matching flats!

Prism in Pink

I don’t know why, but I really like wearing flats in SL. I can’t wear them in RL (because most ten year olds are taller than me) so I enjoy flats and sneakers in SL. You can wear the flats on there own or have a super cute look in a flash.

By the way, the pose is by Tristan Voorhees and it comes with the yummy scripted strawberry.
