You know, I’ve never seen The Graduate, but I heard a remake of “Mrs. Robinson” on my way to work today, and it’s been in my head ever since. I’m not sure what the original songwriters meant when writing the lyrics, but it’s always been a song that made me think of dual personalities, but not in a mentally ill kind of way, if that makes sense. I mean…have you ever said one thing and shown the exact opposite?
For instance, I’ve told people two glasses of wine can knock me out. I would never share that I can down an entire bottle and stay awake. Obviously, I am impaired, but I’m still wide awake. Well, I just shared, but I’ll hold my fingers accountable for that.
In many cases, it’s okay to show one face to the public and one face in private. When the two intersect, it can be hypocritical depending on the receiver. Here’s another fun example. My co-worker interviewed several applicants for a position opening.
The candidate was charming, spoke highly of the company, and had many skills.Unfortunately, as in life, there is usually someone better than you (reader rest assured it’s not me), so my co-worker opted to go with someone who had more of the skills she was looking for.
This charming schmoozer with a wide variety of skills replied to the rejection email with 🖕. I’ve never seen that either. Takeaway? We can’t judge a book by its cover because it may be missing crucial pages. C’est la vie.

Instead, “Live for each second without hesitation.” I tend to revert to timeless classic songs when I try to make sense of life. You know? Songs never let me down. The songs we tend to hold onto or remember in trying times are an unspoken heart around our neck.

I’m actually just in love with Project Bento. Trying to demonstrate expression in SL was one of my biggest (but silent) gripes. It really is all in the face, eyes, and hands. Changing hands to suit the mood used to be high maintenance and unrealistic. Know what I mean?
See what I mean? The hands are so different. Sunshine is wearing the default Maitreya hands whereas I’m wearing Vista’s Bento hands. They both look natural, but I love how Bento poses read the hands or vice versa. Whichever it is, it works.
Now, if I could only be so animated in IRL. My signature IRL hands IRL are usually clenched. I’m telling you anxiety is a bish!

On December 13, 2016 RL and SL lost a life while Heaven gained an angel. Her name was Dani Plassitz.
When I first rezzed into SL, I tried my hand at modeling and it was where I first came across Dani’s work as a fashion designer. Her creations were stunning designs filled with intricate details, and she used colors beautifully. She was dedicated to her passion for fashion. Dani also inspired models to push their boundaries. I distinctly recall a former colleague broadened her fashion horizons specifically because of Dani’s encouragement to be bold. After all, we were in a world where everything was possible.
When I left modeling to pursue blogging, she reached out to me as she noticed I followed her blog. I gladly accepted her invitation to join her blogger team because her style, creation, and exuberant personality were all one of a kind.
Models Give Back walked in remembrance of Dani on January 8. As a testament to Dani’s creative genius, I am honored to use her last gown created for MVW Roberta Aulder in my last post as a Styles by Danielle blogger.
Writing this final blog is heartbreaking. I won’t wake up to one of her kind messages thanking me, but that’s so small in comparison as to what her friends, family, and husband lost. Consequently, my heart breaks for you, and I am so sorry for your loss. May you rest in peace Dani. Thank you so much for everything. Your beautiful voice and creations will be missed. ❤

Dani wasn’t only a talented designer. She was an amazing singer. Some people are just gifted and Dani was definitely one. On Monday, January 9, the music world of SL will commemorate Dani with an ongoing series of concerts beginning at 11 a.m. SL time and concluding at 4 p.m. SL time.
