While many hard-working peeps are celebrating Labor Day, I am mourning the unofficial end of summer.

How to wear a skort

Before too long, the sun will set much earlier and I’ll have to pull my sun lamp out of storage. Las Vegas does not get terribly cold, but the sun sets around 4:30 PM and that is just too early for my taste and for my moods.

Oops, I did it again: A Prozac Stipulation

Have you ever felt like you won the battle? I have. Have you ever realized that the battle only exists in your head? The odds must be in my favor because, again, I have.

Though, I should warn you. Winning a battle that was basically created in your head is satisfying, but a lonely experience if you need attention. Prozac does not solve everything.

I was thinking it’s been quite some time since I’ve written a moody post, but I checked and, of course, I was wrong. My posts are all about moods! I’ve been in a strange mood lately. It’s not strange to me, but I’m trying to express it in other ways. Unfortunately, it is not working as well as I expected because I feel like I’m an empty shell and just drifting through the day. Subsequently, I needed to get more than a few things off my chest.

Designer Showcase July

Instead of writing tons, I’ll just make a list. It’s in no particular order.

  1. I’m so disappointed in humanity lately that I fear the future.
  2. One of my dogs is afraid of fireworks and I wish I could help her.
  3. I want a challenge, but I don’t want to try anything new.
  4. All lives matter.
  5. I’m trying to get excited about opening a restaurant one day (long story but short insert for hubby’s benefit); however, I hate cooking and trying or inventing recipes, so I’m not sure what I’ll do.

That is it. I think. Oh, I wish I could have been a ballerina. I had to slip in my outfit somehow, but, really, that is true. Designer Showcase’s July round is out and I’m in love with More Than Ever’s Urban Ballet Dress. It’s a cool silhouette, so you don’t have to necessarily wear it with ballet shoes unless you want to be a ballerina too.

If this were real life, I would be screaming. I can only handle butterflies in SL. As beautiful as many believe they are, butterflies scare me. Relationships used to scare me too. I always felt like I loved too much and scared people off. While Twittersphere debates the authenticity of Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston’s relationship, I felt compelled to say who cares. Let the girl get over her former relationship however she wants.

Let go

I told my hubby that Swift’s lyrics, from many of her songs, were so relatable because I remember that longing and that hurt that came with every love lost. I recall one breakup where I tried to replace the man that I loved. A male friend came over and tried to get with me, but before anything happened, I tearfully told him I couldn’t because my former boyfriend was on my mind. When I see pictures of Swift and Hiddleston on the beach, one picture reminds me of my former emotion because I think Swift’s sad and Hiddleston is taking the moment. And taking the moment is exactly what we should do. I’ve had my share of heartbreak. At the end of the day, it was worth it because I finally met and ended up with my soul mate.

If you are not me_how do you know how I feel_

I would never have thought my husband and I would end up together because he knew me as a friend and, as such, knew I was a mess. He saw something beautiful in me that must be blind to my moodiness or at least tolerable…and he still loves me. I really hope Swift found that. If she hasn’t, all I can say is it will come so let go. Love has a way of finding you. Now I really need to get a life and stop reading about celebrities lol.

This is a subtle part II to my last post. My husband teased me mercilessly about calling one of my posts part I, so this is a test. If he really reads my blogs, I have to use it to my advantage. 😉

Last time, I went on and on about our Chihuahuas, but only wrote specifically about Annabelle. Now, my little Loki is my first love! Both pups were rescues so I can only imagine their pasts. Loki’s foster dad was not official, but he was the one who snatched up a little, lost dog walking around in traffic. I’m so glad he saved Loki’s life because my little pup doesn’t know this, but he saved mine. When I adopted him, I was desperately in need of unconditional love. We were a match!

She thought, I have got to think. I have got to know what to do.

Now, I have my hubby and our Annabelle so it finally feels like a family. All we need is a place that I want to call home, and that is harder than it sounds because it has to be a home in Las Vegas and not my hometown Albuquerque, for now.

My husband will appreciate half of this post. Now, when I say he’ll appreciate it, I mean he’ll remember the original story. We adopted Annabelle, a little rascal of a Chihuahua, last year because my husband saw her picture and wanted to give our Chihuahua Loki a companion. The first couple of days were rough! I was protective over my Loki because…well he’s a mama’s boy. Annabelle is younger so much more playful. Naturally, I thought playful meant she wanted to eat him. Now I know better. They’re a cute little team. She feels like a part of the family, which hopefully means she won’t try and run.

Annabelle’s foster parents warned us that she was an escape artist. We found out that was true a couple of days later. She didn’t escape, but she hauled ass down the stairs and out the door. Thankfully, my husband caught her. I can’t imagine our little family without her. Both of our pups were rescues, so I always wonder about their lives before us. That also means my husband and I are fiercely protective of them. We don’t know where Annabelle wanted to go or where our little rat babies (yeah that means Chihuahuas in our world) have been.
