RIP Dani Plassitz: “The heart does go on”

On December 13, 2016 RL and SL lost a life while Heaven gained an angel. Her name was Dani Plassitz.

When I first rezzed into SL, I tried my hand at modeling and it was where I first came across Dani’s work as a fashion designer. Her creations were stunning designs filled with intricate details, and she used colors beautifully. She was dedicated to her passion for fashion. Dani also inspired models to push their boundaries. I distinctly recall a former colleague broadened her fashion horizons specifically because of Dani’s encouragement to be bold.  After all, we were in a world where everything was possible.

When I left modeling to pursue blogging, she reached out to me as she noticed I followed her blog. I gladly accepted her invitation to join her blogger team because her style, creation, and exuberant personality were all one of a kind.

Models Give Back walked in remembrance of Dani on January 8. As a testament to Dani’s creative genius, I am honored to use her last gown created for MVW Roberta Aulder in my last post as a Styles by Danielle blogger.

Writing this final blog is heartbreaking. I won’t wake up to one of her kind messages thanking me, but that’s so small in comparison as to what her friends, family, and husband lost. Consequently, my heart breaks for you, and I am so sorry for your loss. May you rest in peace Dani. Thank you so much for everything. Your beautiful voice and creations will be missed. ❤

Dani wasn’t only a talented designer. She was an amazing singer. Some people are just gifted and Dani was definitely one. On Monday, January 9, the music world of SL will commemorate Dani with an ongoing series of concerts beginning at 11 a.m. SL time and concluding at 4 p.m. SL time. There will be nine entertainers/singers that have dedicated 30 minutes each in tribute to Dani Plassitz’s singing career on SL. Please join SL musical artists in celebrating Dani’s life. “Missing link on the brink”

The Cosmopolitan on Las Vegas’s strip turns one of their pools into an ice skating rink! I didn’t actually go to it because I haven’t skated since I was 12 or something.

But it looked really cool from a distance! At twelve years old, I picked up ice skating fairly quickly. I mean I wasn’t amazing, but I could skate around the rink and not fall.

Nowadays, I would likely fall on my ass more than skate. You’ll find my snuggly outerwear at this round of Designer Showcase. KC Couture’s tops come with huds, so you can change the textures. That goes for the earmuffs too!

So, I had an eventful week. I had a birthday. I went to a workshop. I learned that I’m a ‘get appreciated’ personality type (according to the workshop). Good stuff huh? Although, that’s not the most important take away from this week. I also learned I could pass for a real life Laurie should I ever want to change my name.

The workshop dude thought my name was Laurie. When I first started working with one of my co-workers, she called me Laurie and called another co-worker Lisa whose name was Laurie. I know what you’re thinking because I thought about it for a bit. Unforgettable was my first thought, so I had to do some digging. I mean, my self-esteem was on the line!

I decided a name is just a name. Sometimes, I don’t feel like a Lisa (my formal name is actually Alisa; huh lol), and I feel more like a Laylah. Then there are days I feel like Sunshine. I don’t feel like a Jasmine anymore, though. Those days are over. The moral of my story? Sorry, but I don’t have one. This story is only beginning (or at least in the middle of the book). 😉

sublimal-mind-trump-americaI know many people are sick of the election and now that it’s over, I cannot deny it. The results devastated me. In fact, I haven’t been able to do much until now. Well, I have gone to work and all, but I mean my creative juices were shot because I felt as though  I was lost. If I ever told anyone to just accept the results and move on, I’m sorry that I didn’t realize how you felt until now. Indeed, it super sucks! in-a-land-of-make-believeSo with the current agenda, I felt as though I was missing out on current events because I wasn’t an active Twitter user, so I decided to really understand Twitter after the results. I have concluded it pisses me off. It’s never been a social platform that was geared to me because of the character limit. The limit doesn’t piss me off, though. It’s the amount of bullshit, vitriol, and what the fuck moments  that spread like wildfires. shes-a-rebelAnd it pisses me off because it totally sucked me in. Not only on Twitter but chiming in on random articles that spoke to me. While me getting sucked in isn’t anyone’s fault but my own, it’s fucked up because I want to believe I can change it. Although, I did have a nice Twitter conversation with an opposite perspective. i-beg-to-dream-and-differ-from-the-hollow-liesShe popped my Twitter argument cherry. I appreciated that exchange because it felt like a genuine conversation. She was (is) an undercover Chop Zuey Moksha pearl. Did it convince me to use Twitter as the ultimate outlet for my real self? Uh, no. It’s too fucking weird out there right now. I think?dont-wanna-be-an-american-idiotMaybe it always was, and I was just naive. Maybe it isn’t, and it’s just the regular aftermath but in an online, thus all over the place, social networking environment. Regardless of what it is, I had to come back to my safe place. Silver lining? It’s selfish, so sorry bout that! I can safely say that I’m still a #nastywoman. Where that ideology takes me, well, “coming at you on the count of one two (one, two, three, four).” 😉
