I’m writing seriously, so take me literally. Egoisme’s tank has a lot of texture options! I chose this one because there’s a little confusion going on in the USA. Just saying.

Egoisme’s EXMACHINA Sport Tank offers fits for all body types. When I write body types, I’m specifically referring to body parts, such as mesh bodies from Maitreya, Slink, Belleza, TMP, and a couple of others I haven’t heard of. Yes, I need to get out more.

So, I had an eventful week. I had a birthday. I went to a workshop. I learned that I’m a ‘get appreciated’ personality type (according to the workshop). Good stuff huh? Although, that’s not the most important take away from this week. I also learned I could pass for a real life Laurie should I ever want to change my name.

The workshop dude thought my name was Laurie. When I first started working with one of my co-workers, she called me Laurie and called another co-worker Lisa whose name was Laurie. I know what you’re thinking because I thought about it for a bit. Unforgettable was my first thought, so I had to do some digging. I mean, my self-esteem was on the line!

I decided a name is just a name. Sometimes, I don’t feel like a Lisa (my formal name is actually Alisa; huh lol), and I feel more like a Laylah. Then there are days I feel like Sunshine. I don’t feel like a Jasmine anymore, though. Those days are over. The moral of my story? Sorry, but I don’t have one. This story is only beginning (or at least in the middle of the book). 😉

How to learn from experience II: “You look like my next mistake.”

Keep moving. Or do what I do and stick to the same pattern! Actually, it’s what I used to do. I wrote about Taylor Swift (TS) songs and one of my first heartbreaks in my last post, so I figured why stop now? Before I married the real love of my life, I dated. Some dates were casual and some turned into relationships like my two CKs. The two CKs in my life were very different, but they also had something in common. I went shopping all the time. Okay, that’s not the commonality, but I did shop a lot in those days lol.

I was married to one CK. Think of TS’s song “Style.” That was us. Off and on and really (no really) bad for one another. As for the other CK, I can’t think of a TS song that represents that relationship. Maybe “I knew you were trouble?” I was going through a really rough patch (divorce from the first CK and a legal thing), so the song doesn’t really describe all of my emotions. It’s probably more accurate to say it was TS’s monologue before the video starts.

At the time, CK 2 made me feel alive because CK 1 made me want to die, so yeah it was a feeling like I didn’t know if I was “ever gonna feel that way again. But I [didn’t] know if I should.” In retrospect, it’s really sad that feeling ‘alive’ was important to me, but now that I’m thinking of it, I did watch Dawson’s Creek DVDs 24/7 at that time. Apparently, experience does not negate my inner drama queen and media feeds my demons.

Perhaps that’s why I find TS’s lyrics so relatable. When some people feel, we feel it in our bones and it ~~hurts~~ affects everything around us. Actually, I just realized I have half a TS song for my husband.

Taking one for the team

I can come across as quite the ditz, but trust me: it’s a gift. When I was a child, I was in the ‘gifted’ program so naturally I grew up to be a stripper! I haven’t been an exotic entertainer in quite some time, but it was a crash course in life and more than I could have learned from textbooks and traditional courses. Don’t get me wrong. I love school. I’m in school as I type, but as my doctoral program progresses, I found stripping taught me how to observe others and find ways to influence certain situations when the time comes.

I hear you talking

One cannot learn that from a book but from real life experience. At the end of the day, I may come across as a ditz and a stubborn one at that (looking at you hubby), but I always have my eye on the future. Husband…you owe me a big thank you! Also, a new pair of shoes wouldn’t hurt.

Husbands can be so bossy. The subtle types are the worst…or the best depending on one’s perspective. So, clearly it’s necessary to punish them with sweetness and kindness later. At least my husband because I’m usually moody. He would know something was totally wrong if I was super sweet for absolutely no reason at all. 😉

Have you ever been accused of ignoring reality? I used to….I know what you’re thinking. I’m posting about SL, so I have to be somewhat involved with my fantasy life, right? Absolutely! However, I’ve become cynical lately. Not about SL, but real life work is rough and while I thought grad school was tough, I seriously miss it. I was only responsible for me. Now, at work, I’m responsible for others. I’ve never managed before, so I wish I could slap on a mesh head, yes in real life, that epitomized boss lady.

Speaking of which, have you met Veronica? Egoisme’s newest skin Veronica comes with a mesh head and hands. I’m very familiar with hands, but this is my first go with the head.

It comes with two separate huds, for the head and hands, so you can switch up the makeup, nail color and their length. Also, there’s an open mouthed version as well, the option for ears or no ears (for those troublesome hairs), and hairbase options. I’m going to mess around with my shape tomorrow and tweak it for the skin, but I’m liking the perfection of the head. It’s so smooth. It’s a far departure from my regular Laylah look, but maybe I can ignore reality in my virtual reality, and “bury my head in the sand and wait for my f’n prom.” 😉

We all have the ones we love right? Boyfriend, husband, girlfriend, wife, or partner…it doesn’t matter what we call them. It just matters if we can depend on them. The point of my post was actually Egoisme’s Progressive mini dress, but I have to admit it made me feel dangerously sexy, and when women feel sexy, who knows what we can do. Okay, now I sound like a killer, but I swear I’m not!

Egoisme’s Progressive dress has other gorgeous prints, so I suggest you head on down there and pick your favorite one. It’s an intoxicating fit, so don’t get too drunk with power 😉
