I’m coming home

I’ve been in my hometown all week long! Flying back to my new home, Las Vegas, Nevada, is surreal because I’ve only been there for 8 months, but it actually feels like home for the first time. I miss my bed, my boyfriend, and refrigerated air, not necessarily in that order, but you know…

Now, when I say home, I don’t mean my home. Las Vegas is merely where I hang my hat, but like my dad told me, I have to make the best out of new experiences and embrace every moment.

Starting now.

I’m flying home (Albuquerque) in 10 days. I’m so excited! The only thing I’m worried about is taking my pups with me. He’s a chihuahua, so I’m taking advantage of his small size and opting to take him in lieu of my carry-on bag. I’ve never flown with an animal before, so I’m really hoping it will be smooth sailing, er flying. I would leave him in Vegas, but my boyfriend works close to 10 hours a day. Okay, honestly? Secretly, I wonder if I love my dog more than my boyfriend. Yikes! Sorry, my love.

Celebrating Independence Day

Happy Fourth of July! Since my boyfriend is working tonight, I took this holiday literally, and I spent quality time with me.

I’ve had a lot on my mind lately, so I put all of my negative emotions to the side and thought about life from a new perspective.

Often, when I am moody, I’m thinking of what I did wrong. I hardly ever think about what I did right.

I’ve probably said this a million times, but sometimes our minds are dangerous territories, and as many therapists have claimed, we should not travel alone. However, it isn’t so bad when we can see the positive lurking in the corners or staring right at us.

The scent of honeysuckles reminds me of home. If you didn’t know, honeysuckles grow as a vine. Or maybe a certain variety does? I don’t have a green thumb. However, I recall them climbing my childhood home. I’ll be back in Albuquerque in a couple of weeks. I haven’t been home since November 2013, and maybe that isn’t too long for some, but what can I say, I’m a hometown girl and away from my roots as I work in Sin City (aka Las Vegas). Prism Designs‘ Lua in Honeysuckle reminded me of home if only for the color’s name.

Honestly, I’m flying back home because doctors believe my dad may have Parkinson’s Disease. I just realized this now, but Prism Designs actually has a limited edition dress and half of its proceeds will go towards research for Parkinson’s Disease. Incidentally, it is not a limited edition version of what I am wearing in the picture. I just forget to copy my SLurls, so I hit up blogs to find them. Subsequently, I found out Prisms Designs supported the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

That’s just so cool. I had to mention. I also saw the light. I don’t necessarily need a reason to go home. There is no shame in adults missing their moms and dads!

In darkness, there is light

How do you picture the future of SL? If you say sky high buildings and high heel wedges, we are on the same page!

In honor of SL11B, johannes1977 reveals the Tribute City-Black Eagle Rock Club always moves and never stops. While the events are done, all of the sims are open for your viewing pleasure, so check out what may be Second Life’s future. At dusk, the tall, moving buildings have an ethereal glow.

In crisp daylight, the build offers a magnetic background for pictures. Really, it was almost mesmerizing to watch the buildings rotate.

If you need a little relaxation, I highly recommend you visit it. The sims close on July 5th, so you have plenty of time!

Now about my sky high wedges, if you are looking for a traditional pair, Styles by Danielle’s mesh Vista Wedges come in rigged and non-rigged versions.
