If you haven’t guessed by my title, guess who celebrates their 10 year anniversary on March 7th? That’s right! It’s our beloved Pose Fair.
I rezzed into SL 10 years and 3 months ago, and Pose Fair was the event I never missed. Our avatars wouldn’t be anything without pose creators. Mark your calendars for March 7th at 12 pm SLT! You don’t want to miss this event and all the gifts, so join Pose Fair’s inworld group for updates.
The Oscars are over, but I’m still thinking about them. I love to watch all the films that are nominated before the fact, but I’ve been a little out of it lately.
I also watch for the fashion because there are so many gorgeous dresses on the red carpet. Which made me wonder? Who would I wear?
I decided I would wear the Celine Gown by WILD Fashion for its sexy silhouette. Don’t you love the back of the dress? You can find the Celine Gown at Designer Showcase! It’s available in 5 solids and 10 prints. Click here to check it out.
Designer Showcase’s February round opens to the public on the 5th. KiB Designs’ Tanaya Coat is available in 10 solid colors and 5 floral prints. You can top off the look with Lindy Modern and Retro Shoes “Madyson,” if you like comfort with style. Click here for your ride to Designer Showcase!
The moment I put Glitter’s “Jasmine” gown, I got major mermaid vibes. The gown has 6 color options with two choices: textured or solid. I’m wearing the textured version. You’re probably thinking “duh.” 😛
“Jasmine” is available at eBENTO, a monthly event that starts on the 11th and ends on the last day of the month, which is tomorrow the 31st. If you haven’t had a chance to visit, click here for your ride.
Essential oils are an instant pick me up. Cazimi cleverly brought aromatherapy to a new level and you can find their essential oils at Designer Showcase.
There’s a decor version and 3 holdable options for the right and left hands once attached. Using a hud, you have 10 scent options! Need to slow down and smell the tranquility? Stop by Designer Showcase until January 28 and discover the power of scent.
Here’s a toast to Designer Showcase’s 9th anniversary. Established in 2011, Designer Showcase is a monthly event that offers exclusive pieces from designers all over the grid. This month’s event ends on January 28th, so be sure to stop by.
“I had heard the old Indian legend about the red fern. Only an angel could plant the seeds of a red fern, and that they never died; where one grew, that spot was sacred.” Wilson Rawls, Where the Red Fern Grows
A lot of people who read my blog know that I often use this platform as a journal. I may be a fashion blogger, but I’m also a writer who lets it all out. I lost someone I loved so much. His name has made his way into my posts. His name was Loki, and he was the sweetest pup that ever lived.
My Loki was tough too. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2017. In late 2018, he was diagnosed with Insulinoma, which is a form of pancreatic cancer. He lost his battle on January 16, 2020. I had a hand in that. I saw him struggling for a week wanting to believe it was a tooth problem he had in the past. The course of antibiotics wasn’t helping 5 days in. He looked at me and I knew what we needed to do.
When I was in middle school, I read Where the Red Fern Grows. It has stayed with me to this day. When Loki was first diagnosed, I started to plan for his death. It’s the only thing one can do when their loved one has not one terminal diseases but two. All my preparation was for naught. Nobody can prepare to lose a piece of their heart. Nevertheless, I want the red fern to be true. It’s winter in my RL, and I can’t plant shit, so thank you Amatsu Lounge for giving me that splash of red in my darkest days.
So, here we are. Every year, we say goodbye to the past year hoping the new year will be better. Will 2020 bring you all that you need? Relax…it’s a rhetorical question. For myself, I’m haunted by last year. I feel the ghost of 2019 holding on. It’s temporary. At least that’s what I tell myself, so readers prepare for Laylah’s emotional reckonings and some droll to keep it even.
Sunshine and I are wearing FurtaCor’s Gen outfit available at Designer Showcase. If you want to visit January’s Designer Showcase 9th year anniversary, please click here.
