In the past, Springtime represented new beginnings to me. It’s different now. The loss of my sweet Chihuahua Loki changed me forever. I’m not the eternal optimist I used to be. Instead, I see signs in everything and the signs can be negative or positive. If they are negative, they don’t defeat me as they used to do when I was younger. They do add weight to my shoulders; however, that weight is wisdom.
Someone or something one loves can be gone in an instant. I’m learning to appreciate the little things once again. To be honest, those momentary glimpses of happiness don’t last long. Nevertheless, I keep telling myself at least they exist.

So I had to go to Vegas for work this week. I got back on the 13th, which by the way I don’t recommend traveling on this day unless you want your flight to be delayed because the electricity went out at the airport and think flying from Vegas to LA to Salt Lake City just to get to Albuquerque is loads of fun (it’s not). Anyway, I missed my husband so much! He did all kinds of home improvement projects while I was gone. Adulting can be so hot!
