Moving to Washington wasn’t a choice, it was a neccessity. I felt like I was suffucating in the Albuquerque dust, wanting something but knowing I’d never get it. So, I ran, and it rained for two full weeks. I drove to a waterfront as soon as the clouds cleared, and I sat. I thought I would feel free, but I was drowning in lost dreams. Clear blue water did not cure my sadness, so I had to pull something from deep within me and fix myself. Escape was not the answer because it was only the beginning.
